Overview of Services

Located on the Boise State University College of Engineering campus, the Idaho Microfabrication Lab (IML) was established in 1998 as a research and teaching facility supporting academic researchers and industry partners.  With a 1000 ft2 Class 1000 cleanroom, a 1500 ft2 process lab and a 900 ft2 metrology and additive manufacturing lab, the IML is equipped to fabricate microelectronic devices using thin film deposition, chemical processing, etching and photolithography.

The Biomechanics and Mechanobiology lab (BMMB) supports experiments to study the mechanical properties of cells and tissues. We offer training for sterile culture techniques as well as assistance in experimental design. A variety of biomechanical stimulation bioreactors are available to study how physical forces affect cell morphology and physiology.

The mission of the Research Machining and Engineering (RME) at Boise State University is to provide expertise in engineering design, fabrication, and repair services for research to the campus community. Our team specializes in Mechanical Design, Electrical and Mechanical Repair, Current Design Feedback, and Fabrication.
